THE 27th ANNUAL RAGGA MUFFINS FESTIVAL in Long Beach, CA held over Presidents’ Day weekend, Saturday, February 16th and Sunday, February 17th, 2008 at the Long Beach Arena.

Recognized as the premiere and largest Reggae Festival in the US! It features North America’s largest International Crafts and Food Fair jammin’ each day during the ten-hour Saturday and Sunday Festivals. This family-friendly event offers free admission to children 12 years and under when accompanied by a paid adult.
Doors open at Noon • Show Begins at 1:00 pm
The Long Beach Arena is located at 300 E. Ocean Blvd.

true that one. Bitty....bitty bitty bitty. one of my favorite vocalists..damn near ever. he just has that old skool vibe. alborosie is killn it also right now. Turbulence would be another i would want to see.
I like to hit the patio area and get my fix of dancehall aswell. some tight hip hop/dancehall crossovers riddim 2007.

the lineup is nice but for some reason or another, the promoters never book the artists that are running the scene at the moment: movado,munga,busy signal,tony matterhorn, assassin, ray darwin, bitty mclean, alborosie, etc...
i know they have to sell tickets but damn yo.....

Saturday Night was rockin'.
Capleton put it down. "Mooor Fyahhh" . . . That man was jumpin high as hek on stage. He sang a bunch of his songs that have been remixed into ragga-dubPLATEs throughout the years...
Beenie Man also put it down as the undisputed Dancehall Champion of the world... 12 rounds of blazin' tracks.
Sly & Robbie put it down with their live ((reverb)) drum patterns.
Unfortunatly I did not catch Collie Buds.

Was very excited about this 2-day festival and, then..... the huge letdown.....Everyone tells me this show used to the the show of the year...it's so sad it has come to this.
Worst sound ever - blown speakers, way to loud - if the speakers are poping, turn them down - get adequate sound!. I feel bad for the artists, they were great, but the sound was so poor, it didn't matter. MC's...WHAT??!??! Both MC's sucked - nothing to say, negative, asking for $, ego trippin', no Rasta vibe at all. I'm a Reggae fan 100% and this was the worst 2-day festival. It could have all been done in one day. Artists were cut off, no encores. The promoters and production company should post a public apology for delivering such a shoddy show. We're all so hungry for live Reggae music we get suckered by these shoddy productions and greedy promoters. Shame on you.
The Good: The Caribbean food vendors - the brown stew fish, jerk, curried goat, plantains, etc., were delicious! Apparel vendors - great stuff!
I could never recommend this show and would never return.
