'Vinyl has been eliminated'

In Jamaica, seven-inch singles are completely extinct; DJs have ditched their turntables. Will the digital revolution mean the end of traditional reggae? Dave Stelfox reports

Re: 'Vinyl has been eliminated'

*edited for reality*

I sure would miss frantically changing and switching back and forth on 7"s. CDs seem to take away from the show and make it too easy to run riddims.

'Course I haven't bought any new riddims on vinyl since like, the "Blackout" or "Summer Bounce"...

Can I say I feel like Dancehall (not reggae in general) peaked already from '88-'98?

Re: 'Vinyl has been eliminated'

The 'Rae Riddim' By Ward 21 was only released on CD, and Di Genus' 2070s riddim was only available online thru some shady sites if u knew where to look.... sign of the times indeed

Re: 'Vinyl has been eliminated'

you can always cut dem to dub plate after you get them voiced by an artist of your choice...
for dub cutting go to:
www.turnstylerecords.com

pricing, plating and mastering.
ask for Oscar.

This is true, I think you guys should sell me all your vinyl -cheap- while you can still get some cash for them!
