AXELMADDEN: badman sound

After sending AxelMadden a measly $6, I was unprepared to find my ears so badly beatup. The overall appeal of this mix outshines any criticism I acquired from listening to the whole thing (front-to-back) 10 times in a-row. Even when the style fluxes from straight-up ragga (to female vocal joints like Krinjah's "Angel" and R.A.W.'s "Darkest of Days", to spoken word outings like The Archangel's "time"... to the REALLY DIRTY hiphop exploits of Capitol J's "jackmode") the overall vibe is not @ all compromised.
Much respect to the DJ for this runnin showcase of stateside/northern talent.

Big up and thankxx to dayone for posting dis up, Respect. Anyone interested in getting copies of either mix or both feel free to email me at axelmadden@yahoo.com . A lil note bout mix #2:

If ya listen you'll notice that the mp3 drops from track 20-22 and skips 21, due to my error in stoner drunken monkey chinese kickboxing mastering skillz, lol.

Basically i cut the original wave up into tracks and mastered em a track at a time, then repasted em all back together into a solid wave again to convert to mp3 form for the net. Well somehow in the process i lost a track, hense the missing #21???

I'll fix it tomarrow and repost a propa version, my badd and appolagies to all! Guess next time i won't during mastering, lol.

Imma fix dis tonight if i get the time and repost the propa version. Respect to all!!!

Man, 6 years later... like EXACTLY... for the last week and a 1/2 I've haven't taken this mix out of my CD player. It just felt like that time of year again for this ridiculous mix that reminded me of the excitement of 2003 ballistic ragga revival... funny that looking back at this post, it was exactly this time of year!

Awesome mix. Makes me happy and feels like summer.

wish i still had the digital flyer Sean Griffin made a sick flyer for this show!!!!!
it was just too bad that Planet of the Drums played that same night after we bought all our flights and booked our hotels but thats the way it goes. still a crazy night all in all!!!!

One time axel came down to Freebass Fridays in Irvine when we were runnin the show there and the next day he came with us to a massiv in San Bernardino where we had a booth setup with Owned clothing. I was running some tuff ragga on the decks and Axel comes over yelling "drop science on them!! murder da bwoy!!!" all this s**t, i was laughing so hard. I then gave him the decks and a few records and he starts jugglin and acting the fool while absolutly killing it!! I couldnt stop laughing at how drunk he was on the decks while his mixes were f*&^ing amazing. good times.

i remember the insane amount of sake we made him consume before playing at jungle mashin, didn't quite tear it up that night, but it was all good!!! good man that axel.

Yo my sister still has pics from that weekend and all i can say is my badd! That was a rough year for me tstl. Well im sober now and will be back on my game here real soon, 16 days and a wakeup to be exact. I'm in collage currently and thanks to the good old federal government and student loans, i'll have a full up and running studio in no time! So expect some thing come fall time from me! Bad Boy Axel made alot of dudes step their game up back in 2002-2003 era, myself included... I remember thinking, OH yeah, I got this on lock and BAM! Enter Axel Madden. Big ups homie. Holee Shit.

Was that really 6 years ago? That party was wicked. Best time i had in SD ever. Got to chill again with my boy Archive after he moved out of LA and meet a few heads i had only chatted with online. Great one for the memory banks for sure.
