I LOVE THE FACT THAT ITS FINALLY KILLING OUT THESE LAMES OF DJ'S THAT SHOULDNT BE ASO BIG INTHE MAINSTREAM PRESENCE SO TO SPEAK CAUSE THE ONLY HEAD I KNOW OF ON THIS FORUM THATS ALWAYS BEEN TRUE TO THEE ROOTS IS CANOE ANDTHATS ALMOST IT......

Ragga never really went away there winner. Look to cats like RAW, CRS?, Machete, ODG, etc...who have kept the sound alive through all the other DNB trends......
Ragga is what it is, love it, hate it, but complaining about it is just pointless....its not going away.

in defense to this guy, alot of people have said that ragga died, even out here in the bay, while myself and other cats kept the torch lit and maybe he's alil over the top, its true. ragga styles are gaining popularity all over the dnb spectrum. i think he's just calling out all the people into tech who now claim ragga and saying its back. it never left. that's all i know.

have you ever been to anyone of our shows we have done the last 5 years...
the 180 turn around is from a handfull of deadAKdead soliders...
in cali i can count the ragga sounds on my hand they were there when you were jockin the UK sound when you were techsteppin when. If people feel the work and the vibe then f**k it...let them smoke up the blunts drink redstripe...what ever the hell they want.

i never knew ragga was labeled as a trend tho.
everytime i have ever played out in los angeles or anywere there has always been true heads who are there for the music not to follow some trend.
plese take note to all the people who have been pushing this sound and keeping it alive since day one.raspek to all og and all new ragga junglist listeners ,producers & listeners. i see no trend in the true lovers of this music.

based upon everything i read, ill say this much

ragga never died, that i am aware of. the style might have taken the backseat at some point to the emerging sounds that have dominated since 1999-2000. rest assured, there was and still is soldiers in the trenches who do rep ragga to the fullest. if you feel ragga is a trend, you might be mistaken. it's all jungle if you ask me. fads do come and go. if the uk is pushing ragga-type sounds, let them do it. it will come and go, as always.
the good thing is... maybe, someone will be inspired and actually seek out the real music that lies underneath.
happened to me and it totally changed my ways. im living testament to that. i started mixing in 96. was supremely heavy on the jump up sounds until about 99 when the tech moved in heavily. i knew what ragga was. i owned some tasteful ragga. it wasnt til about 2001 when bad company/renegade was getting all crazy that i started hearing more and more ragga. i seeked and found my niche. its far from bein mainstream, ill say that. just be glad that there is DJ's, producers and labels that cater to ragga. If not, you would probably be listening to something else.

Ragga Tech is pretty self explanitory. Elements of Ragga Jungle mixed with elements of Tech Step.

Also, RaggaTek is a new record label droppin soon.
