Lifesavas are very tight
Anyone else feeling these cats as much as I am?? Spirit in Stone is a very solid album, these guys touch all bases of hip hop. Mad props to Jumbo the Garbageman, Reverand Rayzon Shines, and Vursatyl the style warrior.
The Quannum label is getting so much stronger, already with Blackalicious, Shadow, Latryx, etc..these cats from portland have came with sick s**t. You can't phase Jumbo the Garbageman's beats, cat is flawless.
Buy Spirit in Stone if you can. |

Re: Lifesavas are very tight
They're very good live too. I remember seeing them at a in store, than later that night at Knitting factory, the sound went out a bit during their slot, and these cats kept incredible energy going with beatboxing and very dope freestyles. That's like the pure form right there. |

Re: Lifesavas are very tight
i got this one the other day.:v)
GREAT ALBUM!
I let it play a few times all the way through before takin it out for the first time.
I think the best song is the one featuring Gift of Gab, and i think they sound like he influenced their styles alot.
Very similar. |

Re: Lifesavas are very tight
Hell yeah, "Livin Time" with Gift of Gab is definitely one of my favorites on that album, "Soldierfield" is a good cut too. "Emerge" is a pretty crazy track, you can tell Shadow did that one. Hm, they coulda maybe got some influence from G.O.G., but prior to signing with Quannum they had some good s**t while they were still up in Portland.....Gift of Gab has insane talent though that cat is one of the most versatile emcees for sure.
