Re: Politcal messages in Hip HOp ...
J-LIVE LYRICS
SATISFIED
Hey yo
Lights, camera, tragedy, comedy, romance
You better dance from your fighting stance
Or you'll never have a fighting chance
In the rat race
Where the referee's son started way in advance
But still you livin' the American Dream
Silk PJ's, sheets and down pillows
Who the f**k would wanna wake up?
You got it good like hot sex after the break up
Your four car garage it's just more space to take up
You even bought your mom a new whip scrap the jalopy
Thousand dollar habit, million dollar hobby
You a success story everybody wanna copy
But few work for it, most get jerked for it
If you think that you could ignore it, you're ig-norant
A fat wallet still never made a man free
They say to eat good, yo, you gotta swallow your pride
But dead that game plan, I'm not satisfied
[Chorus]
The poor get worked, the rich get richer
The world gets worse, do you get the picture?
The poor gets dead, the rich get depressed
The ugly get mad, the pretty get stressed
The ugly get violent, the pretty get gone
The old get stiff, the young get stepped on
Whoever told you that it was all good lied
So throw your fists up if you not satisfied
{*Singing*}
Are you satisfied?
I'm not satisfied
Hey yo, the ants still steal
The anthrax got my whole earth wearin' a mask and gloves to get a meal
I know a older guy that lost twelve close peeps on 9-1-1
While you kickin' up punchlines and puns
Man f**k that s**t, this is serious biz
By the time Bush is done, you won't know what time it is
If it's war time or jail time, time for promises
And time to figure out where the enemy is
The same devils that you used to love to hate
They got you so gassed and shook now, you scared to debate
The same ones that traded books for guns
Smuggled drugs for funds
And had fun lettin' off forty-one
But now it's all about NYPD caps
And Pentagon bumper stickers
But yo, you still a nigga
It ain't right them cops and them firemen died
The s**t is real tragic, but it damn sure ain't magic
It won't make the brutality disappear
It won't pull equality from behind your ear
It won't make a difference in a two-party country
If the president cheats, to win another four years
Now don't get me wrong, there's no place I'd rather be
The grass ain't greener on the other genocide
But tell Huey Freeman don't forget to cut the lawn
And uproot the weeds
Cuz I'm not satisfied
[Chorus]
{*Singing*}
All this genocide
Is not justified
Are you satisfied?
I'm not satisfied
Yo, poison pushers making paper off of pipe dreams
They turned hip-hop to a get-rich-quick scheme
The rich minorities control the gov'ment
But they would have you believe we on the same team
So where you stand, huh?
What do you stand for?
Sit your ass down if you don't know the answer
Serious as cancer, this jam demands your undivided attention
Even on the dance floor
Grab the bull by the horns, the bucks by the antlers
Get yours, what're you sweatin' the next man for?
Get down, feel good to this, let it ride
But until we all free, I'll never be satisfied
[Chorus] - Repeat 2x
{*Singing with talking in background*}
Are you satisfied?
(whoever told you that it was all good lied)
I'm not satisfied
(Throw your fists up if you not satisfied)
Are you satisfied?
(Whoever told you that it was all good lied)
I'm not satisfied
(So throw your fists up)
(So throw your fists up)
(Throw your fists up) |

Re: Politcal messages in Hip HOp ...
cunninlynguists - dying nation
[Intro: George Bush]
'There's an old saying in Tennesse, I know it's in Texas, it's probably in Tennesse
that says fool me once... shame on... shame on you.
If you fool me you can't fool me again.'
[SOS]
I live in a nation that relies on business and crime
And the leaders are politician guys livin' a lie
Who bulls**t like everyone else for a nickel and dime
America ... just as corrupt as it is online
Using freedom and entertainment just to keep us sedated
But remember what the declaration of independence stated?
All men are equal and that's the way they're created?
But when that was written, black and white people were segregated
And this country still breeds racism, just not as blatant
To call us the land of the free is overstatement
Cause ain't NOBODY free. We all being watched quietly
National security's an invasion of privacy
Drug Trafficking, conspiracy, murder and piracy
What America can't have they take silently
Sometimes violently, open up your eyes and see
Even dirty money is supporting our economy
It's all backwards like negative split photography
But I guess that's the way it's got to be
United we stand on this land and we do all crimes
Facin' a Dyin' Nation ?
[Chorus]
'Facin' a dyin' nation. Listen to the retold lies' (x2)
[Deacon the Villain]
I live in a nation where it ain't what's physical that fights us
Now it's silent strikes from political insiders
A black market government where being criminal is righteous
Ran by bloodlines that were dirty before Isis
The crisis has even spread to spiritual infestations
Confessionals filled with sexual molestations
Professionals so set on capitalization
They don't notice their children freebasin' in their million
Dollar basements
Babies having babies in the hood I grew up in
Hands are too small for the guns that they be bustin'
Schools underfunded, graduates retain nothing
On Capitol Hll it's barely a topic of discussion
Kids like, why should I think about college
When this hood situation is holding me hostage
And even if I fought and bought the knowledge
I'd prolly get shot 41 times by a cop over my wallet
Shiiiiit.. So wherever you are
Don't inhale the second hand smoke from its victory cigar
Motivate yourself don't just stand on the side
Facing a dying nation and listening to the new told lies
[Chorus]
[Kno]
Somebody dial 9-1-1
It's mass confusion, mass contusions
At last we losin' Uncle Sam to a mass of tumors
And that's the rumor at least, it's soon to be seen
If its true that the beast is soon to decease
Catchin' blood clots in the crude oil
That runs through his veins and up thru his brain
Its tough to maintain
If he was low income he'd already been gone
Insurance paperwork gettin handled by Enron
And scandalous friends call to speak
Even Bill O'Reilly's wrapped in a hospital bedsheet
With a pointed hat, where the ointment at?
Wax the taxpayers backside for a tax hike
Woulda had a Catholic priest at his bedside
But they were too busy giving these Boy Scouts a leg ride
Temperature stay high but no pain
Cus the presidents Hooked on Phonics and donkey ass
Product of old age and Alzheimers disease
Medical bills raised from all types of fees
Looks to the American people to show love
But his Social Security ran out - pull the plug |

pharoahe monch-agent orange
Please lord forgive me for my sins
My life is all I have to give
Please lord forgive me for my sins
My life is all I have to give
Damn you that lost the will to live
[Verse 1]
Pissed on the motherf**king White House lawn
I threw a rock, then I ran
Cause I couldn't stand anymore within the grip of the man
Y'all wanna ask me who's sane
These biological gasses are eating my brain
Its a political grab bag to rape mother earth
Thirty seconds after they bagged dad for what he's worth
Thousands will die now so millions can smile later
This ain't the +Rockford Files+ nigga
They stockpile data for satellites
Where you discuss who's style is greater
In this killing pool you playing it cool like Kyle Jada
When ya'll ready to rock like Led Zep and Al Qaeda
With weapons of mass destruction an hour later
What's your identidy today?
You on some John F. Kennedy or Timothy McVeigh?
This Henessy done left me with a remedy to spray
For my identity your life is the penalty to pay

[Y'all ready to roll?]

Please lord forgive me for my sins
My life is all I have to give
Damn you that lost the will to live
Trapped in the game
Just tryin to win (3x)
[Verse 2]
Its not a Vietnam song
I know women from desert storm who came back deformed
Missin limbs and disease and they legs is numb
Chemicals twice as strong as agent orange
Its messages in the bass drum
War goin off in your mind
No man is safe from
Its not a Game Boy about the PlayStation
Its +Resident Evil+ when every President's a mason
Robbin y'all fools like ?
And y'all inherited roots and don't know how to retrace them
Place them back
Face them facts
Disgraceful, faceless, tasteless acts
Pharoahe takes teh authorities to court
Peep crime before it happens like +Minority Report+
And I will never be mentally defenseless
Cats be on the block, in the hood in the trenches sayin

Re: Politcal messages in Hip HOp ...
"From out the deception clouds into the heart of darkness
Apache B2 Stealth F117 with a jackass and giant elephant in the cockpit
dropping daisy cutters on kiddy targets
ready to vaporize the mythical bogey-man to ashes in orbit
blindly trying to set a simulated democracy free
with a schizophrenic eagle mascot with a broken left and an extremely retarded white wing
in reality 360 equates to the same thing
while in the DCI executive suite sits Supreme Commander-In-Chief,
talons submerged in the murk and murks of petroleum ink
butt naked clutching a dildo ghosting through the hallways on phantom puppet strings"
from the album
After five years of planning, NYC indie-innovator (and central member of Company Flow) Big Justoleum and Californian underground legend Orko Elohiem holed up in a rural cotton mill loft in deep South Georgia and recorded two blistering albums known as "The Nephlim Modulation Sessions". Originally envisaged as a futuristic journey into abstraction, the actions of the Bush administration began to impinge. "After two months of waking up every morning to a blitzkrieg of right wing media innuendo and the most nauseating, ridiculous sabre-rattling paranoia since the McCarthy witch hunts we had no choice but to produce this record," Jus explains.
The resultant mini-album, "Woe To Thee O Land If Thy King Is A Child," is one of the most vitriolic, whole-hearted attacks on the actions of George W and his cabal of lunatic henchmen and advisers that you’re likely to hear. At a time when every celebrity finds it de rigeur to voice their opposition to war without actually having anything to say about it, it’s refreshing to hear a genuine anger, and one whose target is much broader than just what happens in Iraq over the next month or so. With a track dedicated to the salty biscuit that nearly choked Bush to death ("Super Pretzel") and an analysis of the malaises in American and Western society that goes way beyond just blaming the Bush Dynasty, the spirit of the Last Poets and the Watts Prophets has been reborn with a new urgency. Add to this a muscial palette which harks back not just to CoFlow’s groundbreaking fractured soundscapes, but the Black Liberation music of the sixties and seventies and this is one of the most distinctive records you’ll hear this year.
With the second installment, "Imperial Letters Of Protection," due this autumn and set to offer solutions to some of the problems set out on "Woe To Thee….," NMS are ready to batter your cortex for a few months yet. Prepare - this is no quiet storm…
