I remember being in elementary school and one of my babysitters brought her copy of Licensed to Ill over with her. I was instantly hooked. I made her dub it for me and I played that tape until it broke. |

Re: First/Best/Earliest Hip Hop Memories
Besides seeing a few RUN D.M.C. videos here and there and hearing their songs on the radio.
i think it was in like fifth er sixth grade when I really got into it, starting with:
Dr.Dre-The Chronic
Snoop Doggy Dogg-Doggy Style
&
Cypress Hill cassette single with Insane in the Membrane & Stoned Is The Way Of The Walk on it.
I started with three classic hip-hop rap figures,
No wonder I'm such a well rounded rapper. |

Re: First/Best/Earliest Hip Hop Memories
1985 Chicago Bears - Superbowl Shuffle. That has to be my first exposure. I had it on this thin square piece of vinyl. I still remember a lot of the lyrics.
next exposure woudl definitly be watching Run DMC and Aerosmith doing "Walk This Way" on the MTV music awards. I was totally blown away.
but "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back" by Public Enemy was the first rap/hip hop album I ever bought.
I've been a wigger ever since |

First hip hop I could remember is definitely N.W.A, Easy E, and Slick Rick. I was in 2nd grade. My all time favorite is still Digital Underground. |
