*DJ QUICK (his production is better then Dr. Dre's and he is a brilliant story teller on the level of NAS where it is just conversation on the mic but his delivery is nice and he rarely ever uses metaphor or similie)
*ICE CUBE (when he was with the Bomb Squad on the production he was classic. the true gifted lyricist from NWA, he may be whatever now, but his s**t was killing in the 90s, i remember everyone would be bumping "wicked" all the time)
*PHARCYDE (Bizzare Ride was hilarious and one of the most classic albums i own. funny cause i used to see them dudes and Another Level all the damn time at malls and s**t. Fat Lip could freestyle his ass off about anything from ur mama's nappy hair to peanut butter and jelly sandwiches)
*Snoop Dog (i always liked Snoop and still do "Drop it like itz hot". he spelled his name in like every rhyme, ha)
*LOOTPACK (yes i luv Madlib as a producer, but i liked the entire group (wildchild) together. honestly they're entire Soundpieces every song is about the wack MC yet the entire album is good and is never stagnent. "samplin' ol skool tracks *computer luv* / only reason why the crowd claps / to cover up the fact that ur rapz wack")

i was reading an interview rifleman did a while back and he had some crazy s**t to say about the goodlife and the blowed...
he said that eminem, juice and some other sub-par mc's came out here back in the early - mid nineties
and actually battled khule, fish, ridd, i think acey might have got in on it too... anyways, eminem, juice, and co. got mangled and they were all like "it wasn't supposed to be like this"... funny s**t, wish i could have seen it |

i agree that there is a vast array of talent here in the west coast.

freestyle fellowship's coming out with a new album with the project blowed all stars. it's called "we missed the bus." i love early to mid 90's blowed s**t, but come on now, those doods aren't what they used to be. all this complaining about "so and so bit our style and blew up off of it" is kinda tired. those doods are just too weird to make any kind of big splash and gain a huge fan base outside of los angeles. |
