DJ Shadow - Endtroducing (Deluxe Edition 2 CD set)
The deluxe edition includes a remastered version of 'Endtroducing' packaged with all of the elements of the original release, along with unseen images from the project's original photographer, liner notes from author Eliot Wilder and Shadow himself, detailed annotations and a discography. The second CD offers a selection of original demos, alternate mixes and musical ideas that served as Shadow's blueprint for the album, along with rare remixes and tracks that were issued exclusively on singles at the time of the album's release.
“In 1996 London-based indie label Mo'Wax Records released an album that quietly yet undeniably altered the landscape and expanded the bounds of modern music. 'Endtroducing' the debut long- player from Northern California's DJ Shadow, fulfilled Run-DMC's dream of DJ-as-band and resolutely announced that turntablism -- as it would come to be known -- could not only exist outside the club, but also welcomed repeated listening.”
If you’ve ever thought about revisiting ‘Endtroducing…..’ but were waiting for an excuse, the excuse has arrived.

Re: DJ Shadow - Endtroducing (Deluxe Edition 2 CD set)
i would have thought it impossible for the album to be any better but that 2nd cd looks mighty enticing.
and has anyone ever been in that record store? i was chilling in sacramento one day and decided to go into a record shop and all of a sudden i felt like i was in the album cover. what a trip.
and i figure everyone knows already but this is undeniably a classic and must have for any music enjoyer's collection - if you don't have it - get it! |

According to dj shadow...
Peshay introduced me to the art of Drum and Bass DJing on tour in Europe in 1995. I admired his precision and timing, and the records he played got under my skin (including his own classic, "Piano Tune.") A couple of years later, when Lavelle suggested a D'n B mix, I was honored to elist peshay...

^From the liner notes.
Yeah it got better. The remastered version of disc 1 sounds better than previous versions and the Peshay remix finally on cd is just icing on the cake! The live on BBC Radio 1 at the end of disc 2 takes me back to when I first saw him live opening up for Jeru the Damaja in Santa Barbara almost 10 years ago!
Good stuff. A++++++++ |
