Ego Trippin' is the ninth studio album by Long Beach, California-based rapper Snoop Dogg. The album was released March 11, 2008.
The album was originally set to feature no guests and showcase Snoop Dogg only, hence the title "Ego Trippin'". However, Snoop Dogg proved this concept untrue as he has scheduled tracks with the likes of Charlie Wilson, among others.
Snoop Dogg originally confirmed that Pharrell, Nelly and Charlie Wilson would appear on a track entitled "Feet Don't Fail Me Now", and that he also would like to work with Bono, Madonna and Mick Jagger as well. However, "Feet Don't Fail Me Now" and none of the collaborations would make the final album cut except Charlie Wilson' features. Collaborations with DJ Quik, Raphael Saadiq, Teddy Riley and Too Short are also scheduled for the album.
Snoop Dogg spoke on working with Whitey Ford for a country song called "Johnny Cash". However, the track's title was changed to "My Medicine" with Whitey Ford playing guitar. Another track with Charlie Wilson and The Gap Band called "Can't Say Goodbye" was also confirmed for the album. Snoop Dogg reminisced on the track stating, "This song makes me want to cry every time I hear it. It is a reflection of my life and how I have grown as not only an artist but also a man - it is about me staying true to where I came from while having to accept where I am in my life today, it's deep". |

This Wednesday Snoop Dogg takes over Opera & Crimson with the release of his new album "Ego Trippin'" presented by Myspace. com. The lines to get in are going to be more ridiculous than ever! There are only two methods of getting in I can suggest... #1: Purchase bottle service OR #2: Arrive very early and have dinner/drinks with us. Superstars VIP will be meeting up across the street from Opera & Crimson at La Cantina Mexican Restaraunt starting at 8:00. From there we will be able to monitor the queu line for entry. Once the line starts forming (probably around 9:30 but who knows since myspace is promoting this!) we'll work our way across the street and grab the best spots in line.
Last week we walked across the street at 10:15 and walked directly into the club but its not going to be that easy this week since it's Snoop Dogg in association with Myspace. It's going to be a ZOO outside so Superstars VIP won't have regular lax door privileges. Aditionally, neither will my guests. Consider this a concert, they're not going to be comping people with free entry. Expect to pay $20 at the door with hard cash unless you plan on purchasing bottle service (which grants free express entry).
Also, they don't let just anybody in. You need to have majority ladies in your group and you need to be dressed to impress looking as sexy as possible. Opera security are notorious for turning people away at the door due to dress code violations. Anybody wearing clothes anywhere closely resembling "gang attire" will not get in. Just because we have a "gangster rapper" in the house does not mean we will be partying with real gangsters. It's just music!!
If you don't get a good spot in line you may have to wait for hours! So be sure to arrive early. I'M WARNING YOU... I can't come outside to get anybody in no matter how sexy you and your lady friends are. EARLY EARLY EARLY.
