Does Homeland still need a DJ?

I haven't been to Homeland in awhile but last time I went you guys were hurtin for a live mix, that lil boombox doesn't do the place justice. My homeboy is local again and he said he might be down to spin. He wants to know whats up.

How difficult would it be to get some set up there? I might know of an extra set that could be donated. I, of course, would get to spin there once in a while, too. This is that studio in LB, right?

i duno if its a good idea to leave ur tables there, all kinds of ppl use that building evryday so you never know whut can happen to em, ice man told me they alerady stole their first boom box, and they also tried stealing the big tv and vcr. also those lil hoodlum kids coem in there and break the mirrors and doors too. crazy kids these days...

Well I got a set in a coffin as well as a set in their own indiviual cases, but I don't have any real sound like an amp and monitors. does anybody have this stuff portably available? If not, I might know someone...

Well, there really isn't one person in charge. Its by the community for the community. So, if everyone (the regulars) are in agreement then it's okay.

Steam and Iceman made it possible for us to have this on Monday nights. Wave-o-matic and myself kind of help over see things. Wave-o is there every week though, so he is more like the "manager", when they started homeland, they proposed the idea to Nick....and he proposed it to me. I guess you can talk to either myself or Nick (wave-o). Steam and Iceman kind of just sit back and let us do whatever we want to do with the place. We run ideas by them anyway though just to be polite you know.

Anyway, we do need a dj!!!!! YES!!!! However I wouldn't advise leaving equipment there over night, unless the guys have a storage room they can keep it locked up in (i'll ask) but, still, i wouldn't chance it. We're in the ghetto dood. lol.

One of the things that's nice about homeland, is that we cater to any type of music. It's a very relaxed practice spot.

So...if you have any old school funk, hip hop, breaks (new or old, electro or techno), dnb....that would be peachy. That's usually the types of music that play on heavy rotation in our lil boom box. lol.

We should really talk about this in person or on the phone. Even better..you guys should try to make it to Homeland so we can all talk about it together, cuz I can't answer all of your questions right now and I feel like it should be a group decision from the whole homeland crew and not just one person regarding DJ'ing at Homeland....that's usually how it goes down. We're all like family. However, i can assure you that any dj is most definately welcome right off the bat. It's just about working out the small technical details. Come check out the spot Bradly...and Edward...tell your friend to come check it out too. So that you guys can meet Iceman, Steam, and Wave-O-matic.

i think just the boom box is fine. cuz that way we can play whatever we want when ever we want. when we have a Dj sometimes ppl dont wanna hear the song or gnre of music and what not. keep it simple and i think it should be good. ice man agress w/ dat too. ok, peace

I would like to have a DJ eventualy, one of the dope things about homeland on tuesdays is the VIBE the DJ gives the whole place. I have to admitt, I would like to have a DJ there on mondays too eventually and have talked to Iceman and Jose about it, and basicly they are leaving it up to me(and I want to talke to all the ppl that go there for their opinion). The Boom box is dope fo sho, but even last week we didnt have one, it was more like a Cd walkman and some small speakers and that wasnt cutting it. Better than nothing of coarse, but a DJ with a good balance of dope records would defenitely be dope. Email me and we can talk about it. reeses pieces.....
