Suggestion re: Clubs n Parties
It might be useful if there was a feature in the Club and Parties Forum that would allow the poster to check a box labeled "Post on Calander" (or something to that effect) when posting a new event thread.
I know that if you post your event in the Calandar section, it will also post in the CnP and Party Reviews.
BUT - hardly any of the promoters posting in CnB also post their event on the Calandar, and that makes it difficult to locate event information.
Promoters could check the box, and it would post in all three places and then when you look at the calandar - everything is there in one spot - withOUT all the extra misc. threads.
...Just an idea that would really help L.A.U. personally, but might benifit others as well.
What do you think?

this won't work because posting in the forum doesn't have the information the calendar post has.
promoters should post their info on the calendar and that will post the party in Clubs and PArties.
if they don't do this it's all on them.

just an idea along those lines but what about doing away with the ability to post a new topic in the clubs and parties forum and instead when they click 'add new topic' it takes them to the calendar add event page instead? |

eh. but a lot of posts in the clubs and parties forum and related to that topic, but not necessarily an announcement of a new event.
i agree with eek, that if they don't do that, its on them, its in their best interest to...
the only thing about the calendar, is that it doesn't allow any html code, so you can't make your party post all spiffy when you do it through the calendar section, you have to come back to the clubs and parties forum and redo it anyway... |

Here's the thing...
I am computerless at home and due to a recent promotion, computer time at work will be limited.
I need event info for L.A. Unified, and it takes hours to research and print, or write out what's going on.
So - I'm looking for an easier way to do that.
Asking promoters to submit info isn't working, and I can't get out to collect flyers, and it seems that L.A.U. is in a pickle. :/
I'd like to step it up a notch this coming year, but I guess its just going to take more effort on my part. Oooorrrr... L.A.U. may have to say goodbye to the scene if we don't get some support. bleh. Anyway, we'll see what happens... Thanks Eecue for your help anyhow...

Yes!!
We do need a little helper - maybe a few!
We need people to help research events and email them so that I can print them out and read them off.
We need people who actually go out (lol) to collect flyers for upcoming events --->
then either send them to me/give them to me, or type up the info and email them------>
coupled with internet research, this should help out tremendously!
We need people to spread the word about L.A.U. ----> including passing out flyers and talking to other promoters about utilizing our service.
We need more networking.
We need new ART for flyers/shirts.
We need new flyers/shirts!
We're working on other ideas, and any suggestions are welcome!
