Re: SOCAL PRODUCERS SAMURAI SHOWDOWN!

This was a really cool concept for a show, and should happen more often. It was great seeing all the producers come out of the bedroom and showcase their tunes. I had to leave early since big Sam poked my eye out! But shout out to all everyone that jammed and the new people I met.

Re: SOCAL PRODUCERS SAMURAI SHOWDOWN!

i was kinda surprised to see more girls rocking out than guys during my set. Kinda weird to have someone who plays tearout tunes play towards the beginning, but it was good times anyway. :D

my favorite quote, from one of the MCs: "This guy is on some next level s**t we don't even know about yet."

Re: SOCAL PRODUCERS SAMURAI SHOWDOWN!

Like Pawn said...it did feel like a punk show! We had all the local cats in the house playing their own stuff and seriously rocking the venue. What a great night! Some favorites of mine were the tune that code:black played at the end of their set...pretty nice! fixation murdered the decks...tunes like whoa. Pawn had some great tunes. Cool dubstep and the last two tunes you played were really sick! Heavy Hittaz had some really good sounding beats. It is so cool to see how you guys have come a long since I first met you at Adrenaline. Big tings ! Gamet's tunes were really sick. Origin played a cool breaks tune right b4 I had to leave for sleep. I wish I coulda stayed for Infiltrata, he probably would of had something wikked that would be on the list here lol. Can't wait for the next show

Re: SOCAL PRODUCERS SAMURAI SHOWDOWN!

Yes agreed...I had so much fun, I slept till 5pm last night..lol

but it was GREAT, I was so impressed with the turnout and vibe throughout the night. I finally met so many of the people I converse with on the board. Everyone was great to work with, the night worked out perfect in the end. Even with origin showing up and getting into his first track within 2 min, to getting pics of hazen and sam battling on soul calibur..

all around great night, and big ups to sam for letting me be a part.

All the producers were awesome, some sets that stuck out for me wew definately fixation, Pawn, Infiltrata and code black.

I definately look forward to the next one, and when that time comes up we'll start posting again.

as far as pictures go...I got TONS..I'll post them up by thursday

Re: SOCAL PRODUCERS SAMURAI SHOWDOWN!

Got there kinda late. Metaphase was droppin some cool heavy beats. Gamets set really stood out for me. He had the crowd going. Devoe played some nice funk. The first two tunes of Jo-s set were really really cool! Heavy Hittaz weren't really my thing but had the place slammin the whole time they were on. Origin play my favorite set of the night. Good variety of styles and really good production quality. Infiltrata was dope too but i didn't stay till the end. This was a really cool idea. I hope this happens more often. See yall next sunday for JOE NICE!!!

Re: SOCAL PRODUCERS SAMURAI SHOWDOWN!

I I heard he was strolling through the jungle when all of the sudden four lions jumped out of the bush. The got up in his face and started pushing him around. Satin pushed back but the four lions were just too much for one junglist to handle. They messed with him for a little while and called him names. One lion the big bully of the bunch gave him a wedgy while the other one gave him a wet willie. One went as far as to give him an indian burn and none of that single twist pussy s**t they used the ol'four finger technique. Satin continued to resist, he even pulled that old weep move he learned from watching The Karate Kid, but the lions were to quick on their paws to get caught up by some kid move that they themselves learned and practiced on impalas and gazelles while hunting.

Satin was your everyday junglist though and decided to put it all on the line, it was life or death. He reached in his record bag and pulled out his dubplates, he stuffed them inside his shirt. The lathes served as a shield and kept the assault of the lion's claws from penetrating and wounding him. He put his headphones on to block out the insults from the lions and therefore keeping his ego safe another day. He took the demo CD's out of his back pocket and broke them in half, the rigid polycarbonate would serve as his weapon. He took his record bag and swung it on a low branch, the recoil from the branch catapulted him. He did "HA Do Ken" move that he had learned from playing street fighter, and stabbed one of the lions in the neck. As he came back down he landed on the back of one of the lions and managed to poke him in the eyes, the lion was holding his face with one paw while, yelling and crying "I CAN'T SEE" and swinging aimlessly with the other. In the process the blinded lion clipped the "bully" lion on the chin and luckily for satin the bully had a glass jaw and the lion went down. The last lion saw that satin now had a taste for lion blood, sating stared him down and pulled out a ball of yarn he had in his pocket and tossed it at the lion. The lion then got excited chased after the ball.

Satin was worn out and went back home to heal from his wounds he no longer had his dubs because the lions had scratched them up with their brutal attack. All he had left was his ego and his headphones.

So yeah that's what I huurd. It was funny though because when I got to Samurai someone asked if I was him...Eddy is the homie though I'm sure whatever the reason was for him not showing up is probably better than what I hurrd.
