i had a great time again, but i have one issue...
before i go further i want to make it SUPER CLEAR that i intend no disrespect to any MCs that were at the event last night - this is just something i have to say.
tak and dino were playing together and that's cool, i'm sure they had that worked out in advance. but towards the end of my set some guy popped on the mic and started MCing. he was a nice guy and all, but i would really have preferred not to have an MC. other people went on and nobody decided to jump on the mic; i understand it wasn't out of disrespect, i just think there was some missed consideration here.
if this event is being touted as a producer's showcase, then for the duration of the showcase part, maybe MCs could chill out? maybe there can be a "no open mic" sign? i dunno. IMO at least the artists showcasing could have the *option*. MCs aren't the focus here, the tunes are supposed to be.
again, no disrespect to any MCs that were rockin' out last night - it's just, this is the only place we have an open forum to showcase our tunes that we work REALLY hard on (i'D been gearing up for this for TWO WEEKS working full steam) and it would be nice if we could come to some sort of agreement so nobody feels infringed upon here. thanks.  |

I can completely agree...and to be quite honest with you..I know all those MC's personally...and not ONE of them would have a problem with stepping off your tunes..
your argument is completely valid and sound...
so new rule....I will ask every performer before their set if they want MC's or not |

Re: MCs on the set...I def understand the want to rinse tunes w/o us rockin over them esp for the showcases & what not...and for myself, a simple "please" is all it takes...I am sure that all of us that were there def meant no disrespect, so if there was a slight by any one of us, I personally apologize on behalf of all the UA MCs that were in the house (esp if it was me rockin over ya set)
All in all the tunes were INSANELY GOOD and I look fwd to hearing them outside of LA so I can say "I was there when they dropped that one in LA"
