Andy f%$@#ing C in SD!!!
Andy C...like whoa! Talk about inspiration. I have to big up the man for playing so much vinyl. You know people have been spreading rumors about cheating and prematching stuff in a digital format. The fact that it was in the form of vinyl moved me a lot. The chances that 2 turntables are perfectly tuned are never 100%...illustrating that he really knows how to mix!!! That dj rinsed it! And the fact that he was doing it with a lot of tunes that anyone can purchase combined with newer tunes, classic anthems, and dubs created an epic story that will be legendary in my history of DNB. I came home inspired to play records in a whole new way. Thank you Deep Crew for 7 fine years of DNB. Your night represents home for me, and I support your endeavors all the way.

thats a very good point indeed. I think he put to rest (for myself at least) any cognitions of false skills.
He was riding the pitch like a f**king COWBOY. killing it on 3 dex was good to see. He definately has perfected his formula...

last night was unbelievable. Andy had me brockin out like i was 16 all over again. Congrats on Deep for 7 successfull years of dedication to this music. Had a great time warming up that beautiful set up....and im mean beautiful, one of the best rigs ive ever played on....professional to say the least.
and i thank the whole Deep crew once again for giving pawn and myself the opportunity to open for such a legend in the game. wow.
Great to see all my SD family in full force once again. Nothing but good vibes every single time i roll down south.

seriously though, to echo everyone else... thursday night was like the best high school reunion ever!! i mean, i don't go out half as much as i used to, but was still just shocked some of the old-but-missed faces i ran into!! what a fun night. my friends got drunk and wandered off in different directions, but it didn't matter because everywhere i turned was more people i had missed lately!
oh yeah, and that andy c guy? he's pretty good.  but i think we all knew that!! andy has been one of my favorites for 7?8? years now, and mc gq is probably my favorite mc. his voice makes me happy and they are SO good together.
congratulations on 7 years, DEEP crew! how about 7 more?!

Wicked show last week, I enjoyed myself throughly! All the locals threw down quality sets and Andy C smashed it into oblivion.
I was definitely feeling this show more then the one in LA.

which would you rather see, a really good dj who prepitches and puts down a flawless creative set, or a dj who mixes on the fly and makes alot of mistakes depending on how good or bad a day he/she is having? this might be a good topic in the js forum? |

Boo to cheating...anytime I find out that someone never touched the pitch control, I get a little bummed out. I am also opposed to mixes that were made by using a computer program. If Dj-ing were only that easy...
It's a matter of integrity IMO. |

wow interesting pov, i dont believe pre pitching is cheating at all, especially if youre using it to make room for other creative tools like cutting/scratching/sampling/effects. Just because you prepitch your set dosnt mean youre never touching the pitch, just means you can get it to the right cue quicker and get it in ALOT faster. I hate when katz take forever getting the next record in, its just boring and kills the energy. eh i dunno just my 2cents |
