Respect Last Nite
Like i told Machete, for as much as i love new skool jump up and hard s**t etc., nothing, nothing nothing imo beats a great ol skool set. And not cause i am bitter and one of those caught in the nostalgia of "it was better back in the day", but because each song was a trust song with character from basslines to drum patterns to switches in the songs subtley and not so subtley and i also appreciate that the music was played and made slower and not just played at breakneck speed depended heavily on how tite the drop was. idk, but last nite @ Respect was epic with Heretic and Glogo13. Man i was feeling that s**t so much. Props to L-Natural for blessing it too, loved going b2b with such a pro mc and props to the peeps in the crowd, who many probably many of the tunes were before their dnb time, but really understood the sounds imo. Hot girls moving, jungle boys bouncing, basslines resonatin' and drum patterns going skitzo. Damn i can't even name the tume of the nite too many to name, but seriously that nite was BANANAS!!!!!!! |

i can't believe how faded i got last night!

if i am literally dancing and doing the junglist stomp and running from the bar to the dancefloor when i recognize a tune coming in and using my hand to mimic every miniscule iota and intricisy of a tune and shaking my head and making the ugliest bass face and say 'ohh my gawd this tune is nasty'...trust me it is a GREAT NIGHT (at least for me).

i was def feeling the nostalgia of it all...
great sets all around.
Natural MC's style was on point with that old school flava and it was good to hear him and XYZ trade off as the set progressed to some more recent tunage.

damn! been fiending the skool lately too!
yup there ain't nothing like the crazy bass and snares of the old-skool! Decided to go straight home after work instead. should've just busted out the Monster drink. Oh well I guess I still have Sunday night. |
