Re: Riddim Rockers

That, was quite an experience. Great, great party. That was some real s**t right there...

i had a blast! it took me back too - the camo netting reminded me of the old school raves, where the dnb room was in the back - behind the hip-hop stage, smallest area...but it always had the most energy.

All the dj's brought some heat. had me dancing my ass off. Great energy, nice vibe

Big Big up to the promoters for bringing it - your hard work came through. It was one the best parties.
Thanks renee!

Re: Riddim Rockers

Good ass times, just dipped in performed then bounce, but APX-1 and CRS? got the dancefloor movin' like gangbusters!! That venue was off the hook (ample parking, warehouse style) and the satge setup was off the hook. Excellent party!

Re: Riddim Rockers

Let me first start off by saying what a huge blessing it was to have this whole crew in LA at one time under one roof. It is very obvious that this show was done out of love for the people and music and admiration of the artists involved.

I used to see members of the K&W crew back in Toronto years ago. Souljah would pass through with Dyer or Terry with Demolition Man, etc. The last time I saw all these guys at the same show was summer of '98.
I am absolutely blown away by how on-point everyone's voices are; now some ten years later.

Tenor Fly still sounds like he did on those OLD Congo Natty Recordings (he sang Alaska Ride!!!). His voice is still so distinct and powerful.
Peter Bouncer sang like he was in a studio rather than a dance.
Demolition Man, Ras, and Dyer were all going for it with all the professionalism and party vibes we could have hoped for.... I think the only people who were actually more psyched to be there than us were the artists themselves!

Terry T is clearly a better DJ than Souljah; but it didn't matter a lick. Both had HEAVY selection, and I didn't give a s**t about the precision of mixing. As long as those amen rollers kept coming strong- and they did for almost three hours!!

I got there just in time to hear an hour of Shinehead and General. It was great to hear some Lovers Rock style singing in a warehouse setting. I left at the beginning of ODG's set.

I'm writing this review in length because it means so much to me to have seen these guys again. Their voices were a huge part of my early DJing as a teenager.

Thank you again Jahwy and all involved in having this thing go off so well. Sick venue, drink prices, DOOR PRICE, chill security etc. and every single performer in the building and ready to rinse out on the crowd!

I gotta big up B.O.B. for the netting and visuals. Guy knows just how to create a signature jungle vibe at every event he sets up for!

One last thing... I understand moshing at Dnb shows. I used to go to hardcore shows, etc. Moshing during a Nosia show or maybe Limewax- sure; let off. But moshing at a ragga jungle show? Embarassing to the veterans in the crowd and the artists on stage. They didn't know what the f**k you were doing; and they didn't want to call you on it- because they didn't know why there was moshing or even what moshing is.
After brockin wild for almost three hours and being completely enveloped in the vibrations coming off the stage; myself and my gal suddenly found ourselves being thrown around violently. She with badly bruised ankles still today.
Next time these LEGENDS are in LA and on stage.... LEAVE IT OUT.

Absolutely WICKED PARTY BOYS! I salute you!!

Re: Riddim Rockers

According to dj.com ...

EPIC.....

**********

EXACTLY!!!! Saturday night was HUGE!!! Definately one of my best nights in jungle ever!!!! AHHH so much about this party kicked ass! There was a huge open FREE parking lot literally right across the street, the wherehouse looked dope w/ the stage, lights and all the camo netting!!! KNOWLEDGE & WISDOM 3 hour set!!!!!! EPIC is RIGHT!! We've all heard "junglist", "fire" even "tarantuala" countless times and for some these tunes are what made us junglist BUT to have them on stage in a setting like that, with a blunt and a hard ass drink in hand and all the homies around, PRICELESS!!! BIG BIG UPS to Joey and Daniel and all of the crew (Steel Lions, Jungle Riddim, Jah Sky) and everyone involved with this event. You can honestly tell there were true junglist behind this, trying to bring it back, real jungle!! If anyone missed out, you did just that! Also Big Ups to Bob, Oscar and Ghandi the men behind the sound, lighting and visuals, everything looked dope!!

***everyone trying to remember the whole night and still drawing blanks, like alot of us are post up some pics, i think there was alot of video too!

Re: Riddim Rockers

we would like to thank everybody that made it out to the Riddim Rider show we pulled off the all ting (and it was loud, you could hear the party a couple blocks away)... I would personally like to big up my partners Daniel of Jungle Riddim, and the General Jah Mikey of Jah Sky Muzik (we be the bamboo, we bend but never break) and much love goes out to the mighty Gzuz along with the GoneJahWOmen runn'n the bar. props to the production team Bob, MR.Kind, and Ghandi and crew, the visuals and sound looked nice, you guys set the stage for the performers that took it. Big up the best security dude in the state Dhandi he looked sharp towered over the crowd and kept control of that backstage area..
big up my Tonz of Drumz/Ghetto Life Familia (CRS?, APX1, Iray, Direct Feed, & ERS1) we'd also like to thank the original jungle dons from the U.K. Knowledge and Wisdom for blessing the crowd (Tenor Fly, Peter Bouncer, Cowboy Ranger, DJ Souljah, Demolition Man, Dyer MC, and a special shout out to Terry T. for making it happen)
Big up the original Shinehead and soundclash champion DJ JFX (our extended family, for the promotional support, and even nicer performance), Blackheart Warriors Hi-Fi opened it up and got those positive vibrations flowing early. and big up our street team the dread we know as Luscious and Camel.
Look out for our next warehouse ting coming from our camp late spring 2008 plus a special 4-20 event from Tonz of Drumz, Ghetto Life, & us Steel Lions

***plus Tonz of Toyz Saturday nite the 22nd at the airliner (main room has got them irie vibes)***

oh my gosh was it a good night!!!!
i have been on a whirlwind for over a weak.

Jahwy got a lot of thank you's in already but i am gonna do it again...

first i would like to apologize for those who were looking to see our Riddim Rockers party... the queen mary left us high and dry and canceled all promoter contracts, so we had to go underground with the RIDDIM RIDERS!!! Jr.Reid and Spragga Benz will be coming in 08' deposits have been paid so hold tight....

ok... it was a great blessing to be able to do my first show in LA. thank you to everyone who attended. I had a great partner, Jahwy, he is simply ace...easy going, laid back and gets s**t done!!! bless up. GZUZ, what a general in the trenches!!! he took one for the team being trapped behind the bar helping take care of everyone why some of his favorites were on stage rocking out but with them GanjaWomen slangin drinks with him i know he didnt mind. Ghandi, B.O.B, and crew the place looked great... i thought i was gonna die a few times putting up those camo nets but it was worth it!!! Oscar aka Mr.Kind...that you are my friend. thank you for coming through with the audio recording and video (i gotta see that asap). Dondi aka BIG FISTS...this cat flew down from Oakland to help me out with security...he was the 6'10 man in the black suit helping keep the vibes nice and IRIE. Renee, thank you for the support, input, promotion and kickin ass!!! you find away to make me laugh when i get all screw face and grumpy... to all the DJs... there was a reason you were on this line up you have blessed us along the way... i am sorry that time slots had to be juggled and things had to change (thank queen mary for that) we will make it up, i promise!!!

yo, we had people for several states and different cali cities mosh down to L.A. for this party... thank you for your support!!

YO CALIFORNIA WE JUST HAD KNOWLEDGE & WISDOM BLESS US UP!!!!!! WOW...ITS STILL SINKING IN!!!!
