man, you guys advertised the f**k out of this as a "smoke friendly" environment, only to watch my homie get tackled by one of your maggot ass security guards as i passed him a joint. then when me and my boys stopped his punk ass from dragging my friend out they busted out their pepper spray like some sissies. open bar? free beer? quit fronting, i would have gladly paid any price for alcohol if I only could have been served it! to make people that paid $40.00 stand in a f**king hour long line to supposedly get alcohol only to get on some gay ass bus??!!!! i was hoping i'd see somone wearing a non-stop shirt in that piece of s**t bus so i could stomp on anyone of your punk asses. get your s**t together you pussies. f**kin sorry ass motherf**kers. handle the hype you create or quit wasting southern cali's time and money. f**k these piece of s**t promoters. l.a. has given you too many chances. throw in the towel you busters.

gotta agree.... the lines, the parking, the 50$ entrance fee, and the mf doom fake performace were horrible... spent countdown in line for alcohol by myself, got pissed and s**tfaced in the s**tbus.. didin't meet the expectations....

this would have been an amazing show if you were the type of person who loves music, art, underground style locations, and appreciate the work it takes to produce that.

if you are the type of person who goes out to get wasted - it probably wasn't the show for you.

I think the alcohol situation was disappointing for everyone, the promoters included. I know they went through a lot of work to secure a legal event, by the books, to not get shut down. they pulled it off - but the gov. agencies took away all the fun. if they ran that event with alcohol and smoking allowed, it would have been shut down. to compromise, they rented a couple limo buses and gave away free drinks, since legally it wouldn't be on the location.

between the pressures of putting on legal show, and the work it took to step it up and get all of the artists in and out - they went big, maybe bigger than they usually go, and a couple things got lost in the mix - but everything they promised to be there was there. Even MF Doom was there (lot of people told me he probably wouldnt be there). How he put on his show that they paid for was a different story - if I booked someone to do that, I would be upset to.

bottom line, I had a good time - and thought KRS-1 on the countdown was pretty sick. probably the best countdown ive ever seen. great show in a lot of ways, couple things might have been overlooked, but overall id say good

yeah i was heated last night to say the least. i dont go out to get wasted, however last night i definitely was trying to. basically, these guys have run into all kinds of problems, and i have stuck by them in the past. but only because of the jungle parties they threw in the late 90's. some unforgettable memories from those events. but man, these guys have had countless bunk party experiences to learn from. to bring heads out from the woodworks only to dissapoint time after time... man, give it up.

no legal event is smoke friendly. it's against the law. so if you wanna go to a big show and smoke, you gotta handle your own s**t based on the circumstances at hand. its obvious why the smoking had to be on the DL, the fire marshalls were there, thats something out of the promoters control, so like, use your common sense, and keep it quiet about the smoking. and if you can't, thats no ones fault but your own.
i mean, i wasn't out to get wasted, just to enjoy myself, yet somehow i managed to both drink n smoke without any trouble from anyone, security or otherwise. so why couldn't you?

the bottom line is we are all responsible for our own time. if you wanna have fun, you have to make your time fun. you cant just sit on your ass and blame everyone else bc you couldn't adapt effectively.

besides the whole doom thing hip hop room went off . bass in the dnb room was booming. all in all, i'd say a good party. bad parking, long lines, security guards, etc, are nothing new to big events.

i think the promoters did a good job of holding it all together with all the factors.

and i had a good time!

some of the best parties i ever went to were non stop parties back in the day, but its been a long time since then. now it seems that each party is followed by a less than stellar review. Dope was fun but i cant gamble anymore on inconsistent nights.

major points for creativity on the drinking, i have never seen that
before...party buses who would have thought.?? even though it didnt work too well its a great idea. i am sure promoters are gonna bite on that idea. i just might myself.

KRS1 - Phatlip (pharcyde) - Freestyle Fellowship and much more...what a performance!!!! HIGHLIGHT OF THE NEW YEAR!!!...

CRS? set rocked with the wobble and deep bass (fav set of the night)
APX1 kept that cali vibe rolling!!!
Rasta from X-Clan got on the Jungle stage with RAW...that was fresh.
DYER MC, what energy!!! so nice to see a beautiful ambassador of the sound on stage.

TC brought in the New Year like a true veteran. His stage presence is undeniably second to none!!

smoke wise:
i guess i got lucky i was told this one security guard was following me around while i had a spliff in my mouth but i kept dodging and weaving my way around always one step ahead and didn't even know he was there and then i went on stage and i lost him. i guess that was my closest run in the security...

camel and his girl addaline blessed me up with the smoke...thank you i really needed it since i didnt drink more than a few lite beers!!!

we gave out over $8,000 in free beer and liquor,spent $5,300 on the charter buses, we used over 6,000 cups, and those buses had over 700 people in & out of them all night drinking for free, sorry if some of u dint like the set-up but i guess we could never please everybody, but we did try, and we do apologise if you dint enjoy yourself..most people din't mind waiting in line to be able to have all the free drinks they wanted instead of having to spend $7 on a drink

i actually had a pretty good time despite the number of problems people have been talking about.

the main reason being the music...really good sets. Again even though after one point there were sound problems - the music still came through. Dyer MC is just dope, what a nice presence...i hope she sticks around LA (and beautiful too) It was exciting to hear RAW spin jungle for part of his diverse set - sounded dope like the good old days -hehehe.

The ART was fantastic - again bringing that undergroundjunglisticsoulja vibe...

I was surprised by the hard sets by crs? and apx1. damn...i've heard them a thousand times...always get surprised...
And the KRS count down was really cool. I've not been following his career since he's hay day...but i thought he was on it that night - good fun performance, the music was dope...lyrics decent

$1 water was nice. and having a taco truck outside was cool too (even though i didnt take advantage of it).

yeah, i woulda liked the alcohol, like anyone, esp after you pay that money that you dont have much of...but compared to the money put out to put this on....well, i dont know...it my contribution to that...right and to me, its clear the promoters did what they could - up against the bs of the State and their rules. the buses were a good idea...if it just could have gone faster...

but the music was f**king great... thank you

WOW! this really sucks to hear that so many people are unhappy with this EVENT..KEYWORD=EVENT....(but ill get back to that)...i was not in attendance,i didnt pay for a ticket..but, i have been at every EVENT they have thrown since 98,that means i have been to the partys that would be considered the best ive been to and also ones that have ended ubruptly.... so i can understand peoples frustration believe me! but what people need to think about/not take so much for granted is the fact that NONSTOP throws E-V-E-N-T-S! and with EVENTS comes risks,lots and lots and lots of risks..(sometimes s**t just goes wrong without warning and sometimes theres no excuse for the way things turnout,depends on the situation ofcourse.......) now theres a huge difference between EVENTS and clubs..(take a moment to really think about the meaning of my words)..a club will rarly reach the kind of vibe that an EVENT has the potential of reaching..that oldskool , getting away with something vibe etc...you know alot has gone wrong with recent EVENTS of theirs,alot of people hating comes with that....but,people keep coming ,why,,,,,cause theyre still tryin to bring that good ol' vibe.............alll in alll ,i tip my hat to nonstop for being troopers in true junglist fashion,and never giving up no matter what the reviews are...how many of us could do that?? i dont know if i could...
