Jimmy's is awesome! It's kind of a whole new vibe with the 21+ crowd. I felt like a very sophisticated junglist loungin' in the booths! HA! I really love the venue, especially the patio. SO much room!
Great sets from everyone, especially Rob for throwing down the old school freestyle vibe. Felt like I was in junior high for a hot minute. Glitch Mob was bangin! Infiltrata & Dre kept the dancefloor packed & sweaty, boy! Loved that little bit of dubstep towards the end of the night, it mixed well with the champagne 
It def felt great christening a whole new chapter for Respect. Looking forward to many more fun nights there! |

Man...what a great way to bang in the new venue, the place was PACKED and lots of new and old faces in the building...
That patio is OFF THE FUCKIN HOOK....definitely feelin that vibe! The inside dancefloor was tightly packed but seemed like everyone could move around OK and the sound was good...
Everyone rocked s**t, but for me, when Infiltrata dropped that dubstep @ the end of his set OH MAN...dunno if it's just cuz i haven't been to Pure Filth in a minute or what, but when that "Clouds" joint dropped....I was beyond hype...
Big ups to everyone that came out, shouts to Rob & the JP fam for bringing us another chapter in the Respect legend...see y'all next week (or this Sat @ Detour..hehehehe) |

i like the new spot. basslines sound warmer aka phater. it will be getting hot up in there, but if u aint' sweating u ain't trying. love that the booths are in the back and having more then 1 bartender working is a GREAT addition. even with the decks on the floor with the crowd there was no skippage and it makes peeps esp. in the front row go bananas on big tunes. outside was waaay dope. nice and spacious. security seemed really lax. the busboy was on point (put an empty drink down and in 2 minutes it was picked up). rollers on that system sound soooooooo delicious. parking seemed like a breeze too which is good. i have a feeling that the patio is going to be a huge draw for the new spot too! |

Patio was off the hook !!! And when ya got MACHETE on the decks playin oldskool FUNK and a huge POPPIN' circle things are def lookin up (for me at least haha)! Not that anyone really cares, but i was stoked to see that many dancers roll through (tetris, waveo, pandora, skywalker, tabo, tronick, slimboogie, frantick, jigsaw++++) ! This is how it should be every Thursday dammit! haha So ya I'm feelin the patio fo sure! They need to keep it open till the very end tho cuz we can dance till the very end!
Main room dancefloor is smaller but everyone that's on that dancefloor is in it for the MUSIC and the vibes run hella thick! To me the new spot still has that same Respect/ larchmont type vibe but with a bit more class! The booths with leather couches and fancy shmancy pillows were ohhhh so nice ! I do miss the 18+ crowd energy, BUT at the same time its so nice to be amongst a more mature dnb crowd!
And last but definetly and I mean definetly not least thank god for those nice restrooms w/ more then just 2 stalls! I can't express how much I hated the ladies room at the Larchmont !! It's so nice to go to the restroom and not get all grossed out
Lovin the new spot !!!

I have always loved this spot. It was awesome to see Machete throwing down the 8th grade dance set! Total Freestyle-listic
The Patio is the motherf*ckin bomb. I have had some times on that patio. The neighbors are just going to have to get used to a packed Thursday.
PLENTY OF PARKING.
I am really happy it is 21. Sorry for those that are under 18; but we all have had to suffer through those years. It will be worth it.
The dancefloor is small, however the back area by the bar more than makes up for it; perhaps a live feed to the monitors would help out.
Glitch Mob was radical. Period.
And Infiltrata gets mad props. Killer killer set. You made a new groupie.

Thank you Andrea, Rob, the whole Respect crew, it's been a minute, and what a way to come back to one of my favorite "spots".
Love the new spot, Rob, you and Glitch Mob killed me on the dance floor, I couldn't stop dancing, I paddled out this morning and was too sore, hehe. Plus I went to the inside room, and Infiltrata is killin it!
Props to all that respected the circles too, many cats think that poppin's origins are in hip hop, they are not. Hip Hop is East Coast, Sedwick Ave in the Bronx, Kool Herc, Bboyin, Graff, MC'ing, DJ'ing, etc. Poppin is West Coast, originated in the funk era as early as late 60's, but mostly in the 70's. When we got the gift of many electronic music scenes here in the West Coast from Detroit, New York, and primarily in this scene from the UK, their chocolate got stuck in our peanut butter, so reeses peanut butter poppin cups to jungle/D&B was inevitable. The scene has always had its poppers, it was so dope to see cats respect that last night too. The one thing we have originated here in the West Coast, is that dance scene.
