Matty G - a household name for dubstep. A true bass engineer. I can never get enough.
2nd tune into his set, Roommate & Noah D - Street Sound. That track is massively sexy. killer swirl bass.
Thumbs down to the fake cop who showed up at 1:30am. Although he was nice, I was able to peel off part of the flying v logo on his jacket sleeve when he wasn't looking. Not very official, mister. (Edit: just read your post Pablo! good thing he didn't see me! haha oops!)
But, thumbs up to Matty who held down his tradition and threw on 50,000 watts to close the night in true gangsta style. 
Such a blessing to have Breakage back! His set was refreshing - a reminder how thankful I am to be able to hear such pure, deep sounds here in LA. A wonderful contrast to the norm - deep, unable to be uprooted, a lasting experience that leaves an impression. I love to peep the dance floor during his sets - the true musical enthusiasts remain.
Sam, i dunno how you do it! double-shift! You are amazing.
Sonic, was great to have you the whole night! Sorry your car got blocked by the imitation fuzz!

i thought the same thing so i went back outside to talk to them after they told us to turn it off. They were real cops in a real car with real guns but were actually pretty cool. They just said to "turn it down" but if they came back they were gonna crack skulls. The Pure Filth Soundsystem only has two volume settings...on and off. Not really feeling "turn it down". The bartender/manager was sweating getting busted pretty bad (can't blame him for that) and we didn't want to burn the spot out before April so we just agreed to shut it down (think it was like 1:30-1:40 anyway). BIG UP Matty G for being so cool about the whole thing. Man had bare dubs still to play so we will get him back down whenever his schedule permits. Still not sure who would have called the cops however. Last night was either 7 or 8 shows at Blu Monkey. Never had so much as a peep out of anyone before. Guess the squaters in the abandoned hotel next door ain't feeling the basslines. Fucking haters. Gonna have to cover the backdoor with a matress (uk pirate radio style) next week or something.
