Based in San Francisco but hailing from the U.K, The One touches down in L.A for this weeks episode of DRAMA. Arguably the champion ambassador of Grime in the USA, The One is a major player in the Grime music scene. He not only gets love here in the U.S but also from the UK. He is outfitted with the latest cuts from all of the heavyweight producers and has some of the top Grime lyricists respect as a DJ. He has mixed live on XM Radio, pirate radio (93.7FM westadd), Futurebreaks FM, also has done a score for Boosted Mobile Films. His talent caught the eye and ear of famed U.K producer Photek and he is now part of the TEKDBZ roster.

Great night, Pawn and "So Drunk" Steady had a nice set and got the crowd warmed up before Steady passed out in the booth (too many Patron shots me thinks!)
Next up Uome and 6Blocc brought the L.A Hoodz vibrations...literally...the pool hall upstairs got pissed as the balls were vibrating so much people couldn't see straight!
After the Hoodz crew packed the dancefloor and shook my beer onto the floor, The One stepped up and took everyone by surprise with the Bay Area Hyphy Grime Steez...the gal dem feelin' it and so the man dem too...41 Dub crew losing their minds in the front row! Have to say I wasn't too sure how the grime would go over but in the glorious words of Borat..."I LIKE!" and it seemed by the way girls were shakin' it everyone else did too!
Big up the Hardcore Filth Massif, see you at MALA on tuesday. That will be one for the books! |

Great night of music- yea we was diggin' the Grime.
Although shout to R.A.Dubb for droppin' a couple tunes that almost knocked me on the floor (thanks to the Filth rig).
Some people unwind from a long week by going to T.G.I.Fridays for Jalapeno Poppers and Potato Skins during happy hour.
We go to Play Lounge for straight gimlets and ABUSIVE basslines. |
