what happened to Aphro @rewind.....

he E-mailed me and told me his story on what happened here it is...



Well this is what happened - read below

Yeah - saturday was a nightmare. Its happenned quite a few times when
travelling to Heathrow. Normally its a 1hour15min drive, but there was a crash
on the M25, the London orbital, which basically f**ked up travel for loads of
people that day. I spoke to Virgin who said that they had delayed some of the
take offs from London Gatwick but not Heathrow, as a smaller percentage of
travellers were effected. I spent nearly six hours getting there and back. I
know that London Traffic can be hard to understand if used to jams in LA, NY
or other North American cities, but believe, its a different ball game
entirely.
I may have been able to sort something out with Air New Zealand, but having
the flight booked late in the day, an expedia ticket rather than a virgin
ticket meant that I would have had to spend about 1200 pounds (2000 us$)
trying to get there. With no deposit and only travelling for just the one
show, I made the decision not to try. It would have been a bigger nightmare,
geting there too late after spending my entire earnings with no guarantees.
So I lost out big time, in reputation and money too.
All due to blimmin traffic.
My previous worst was getting to London Stanstead 5 hours to late for a flight
due to a traffic jam on the M11, I have never been invited back to Ireland. As
I said, if you tell someone who lives here about a traffic jam causing f**k
ups, they all groan sympathetically, but tell someone from a different
country, and they simply can't comprehend.
I left a lengthy message with the promoter on his machine and gave him my
contact numbers, but he has not called back again.
Its also not too good as that morning I sent out 12000 emails telling people
of my show in LA.
So all round its not a good thing. So him explaining he lost a ton of money I
am not sure too believe, as the crowd would not have known about my no-show
until the time came, and also it was a multiple room event.
So contracually, its down as an Act of God.
I hope it doesn't put you off working with me, as these were exceptional
circumstances.

That's cool... there was nothing you could do about it, but promoters and people throwing the event shouldn't book flights from Europe to arrive a couple of hours before you're supposed to play. If they weren't so cheap they could have flown you out the night before and put you up in a nice hotel... which would give anyone enough time to deal with pretty much any situation.

well i hate to play devils advocate, but in my personal opinion, i would have attempted to have him here a day early if possible. I dont know the whole scenario, there may have been reasons why that was impossible. But anytime you have a dj flying out from another country, its always good to give your self some emergency time in case s**t goes down. Because you can never count on airports running smoothly, it just doesnt happen. I mean hell, in the states traveling for gigs i have been held up at pheonix over night. Shit happens, gotta be prepared. But like i said, there could be alot of things that played into him coming last minute. Other gigs and what not.

i must say i back revenger.....tell it like it is!.......at least someone has the balls to speak up, and as far jluv and index.....you guys gotta stop kissin nonstops ass and just accept the fact that the party failed to meet its expectations........
either you have something to do with the party or your friends threw it, but instead of constantly bitchin about how everyone is a hater, step up to the plate and give some answers to the fans who make the scene what it is.........cuz right now everyone is pissed and rightfully so

thats right. I had the best time in A LONG TIME almost went back completely to my hip hop until this weekend..

hey jluv, I don't want to hear you talk anymore s**t because I've been to parties and have patiently watched people put large parties together where they don't f**k everything up multiple times

it's not really about aphrodite as he wasnt even on the flyer as much as it's about kenny ken and 16 armed jack ---so what happ'd to kenny ken ? i had a great time anyway but i feel for all you peeps that payed i would be jus as salty ! REPARATIONS! lol jus kidding --- this is tha type of ish that makes you semi jaded towards droppin 25 hard earned dollaz on parties though --- i have to say i've seen cap j 4 times and that his dopest set i thought out of all four ! PEACE Y'ALL!!!
