BATTLE OF THE L.A. PRODUCER'S....WHO'S GAME?
Sup to all producers/dj's:
I'm all for the US jungle movement. I know there are dope producers out there that wants input on tracks they produced. So I'm willing to play all entries in front of a live audience, but these are the rules:
1) Your track needs to be put on cd so it is easily played. NO TAPES... or some type of medium like minidisc. As long as it can be plugged in to a standard Mackie mixer.
2) Your track will be voted on by the crowd. Just like gladiator, you may live to see another day, or be banished by the crowd.
3) I wont announce the name of the artist until all entries are played. Unless the producer does not want to be known.
4) All tracks must be submitted for review before the show. Dont worry about your tracks. No duplication, or copying will take place.
This will take place at HEAVY ARTILLERY in Pasadena everyother Wednesday. I will try to have it on the Nov. 27th show or the Dec. 11th one. Submitting the track in person is the best way, just pass by the club and give the TRACK to DDT or MC GHOST of Phalanx Mob.

I'm a producer/DJ myself. And lucky for me, I have a record label very supportive of me. They put down 8 of my tracks on dubplate. So I can spin them.
I just want to hear what other producers have to offer. This is actually the best way to get feedback anyway. What the people what to hear, right...! |

Hey, the whole idea of this is to get all LA jungle producers, or socal peeps, to showcase their work. The crowd will decide if your track is dope or not.
Basically, you are trying to get acceptance and feedback from the crowd and your fellow peers. |

Thats a good way to get producers together. I now at the UK, all the producers show each other their tracks, and get feedback on how to make it better. |

its so much easier in the UK when other producers are a short tube ride away. Its a bit different out here.. its so spread out. We have these so called junglist "cells" that form all over the southland, lying in wait for the day they are called to bring the ruckus. |

I take this like a friendly competition. Not a forum where people want to become enemy's. Like a friendly game of 007 on nintendo 64, you blast your homies, and have fun. No hard feelings, just bring your A game next time.
Plus its a good way to compare your style, production, and mastering to your fellow peers. Everyone does things differently. Lets learn from each other, and constantly keep improving.

Well I hope the tracks sent to me will arrouse a positive vibe for the crowd. Dancing, headknoding, jumpin around, buggin out....etc
But after we get the first winner. Every month we'll match it up against some new tracks. So on and so forth. We'll anounce the name of the track and producer as well, winner only. I can probably even get the name of the track and producer on the flyer as the tune of the month.... maybe.
But I'm 110% down for the LA jungle movement. I wanna hear the talent we got here. Everyone will benefit from this, ya know.
So I hope other producers put there best works in and give it a try.
