alright fellas
Alright guys, I've been using my pc and fruityloops to make some tunes, I've not got a midi keyboard yet but will have soon. The thing is, I've just managed to get my hands on the following:
cool edit pro
sampletude
sonic foundary acid pro v.20
sonic foundary sounbforge
steinberg wavelabsteinberg recycle
sim synth 2.5
gigasampler
reaktor
orion 1.5
plus others..
The tunes I've done so far aren't bad but obviously could be alot better if I actually knew what i was doing! lol
I don't have a clue how to use more than one program at once,I've only ever used Fruityloops on its own.
so how do you go about using fruityloops and some of the ones I mentioned above??
and whats the best soft synth? price etc... |

Re: alright fellas
the only way you can use fruityloops with any of those programs is to export wav audio and use those samples in the other programs. |

Re: alright fellas
reaktor is amazing....

just get cubase and reason and another soft synth like absynth and you shold be alright
and keep reaktor....its the bomb....oh yeah and keep wavelab cause your going to need a audio editor and keep recycle if your going to use reason........ |

Re: alright fellas
stick with Native Instruments and you can't go wrong. You will pay, but you will get what you pay for. To start, check out the Pro-53... stay away from Reaktor until you know more (unless you already do) about synthesis... I'd say FM7 next, then Absynth, ending with Reaktor if you really want to get into Modular stuff... I love it... but it isn't necessarilly the most effecient way to get down to writing music...
also check out the various host/studio programs... I recommend Cubase SX myself, but there are many good ones including Logic, Sonar, Orion, and Fruity.
Also, Orion's Junglist is a fun softsynth and not that expensive... give it a looksee as well... www.kvr-vst.com will have all the info you need. |

Re: alright fellas
Start with what you know and build. Keep doing the loops on Fruity and then export as wavs into Acid. Then start messing around with arrangments. As you are doing that take each wav and run it through soundforge to perfect the sound quality that you are striving for. If you dont have the manuals, the best way is to just get into them and get lost for a while. You will be suprised what you can pick up just by doing it and exploring. |
