Re: clown step bass

Assign a sine LFO to your sample/sound. Set the filter type to SVF and assign a fairly low filter cutoff frequency. Set the filter resonance all the way up. Mess around with the attack time on the envelope. You can also try to use triangle and pulse LFO's.

But, I consider it to have some elements that pertain to this thread.

Just giving an opinion like everyone else on this site. I guess we take music seriously while you do not.

Respect to all styles of music and to the people who are dedicated to making it - quality tunes take hard work and determination no matter what style or genre.

If you're making something in 10 minutes just to 'clown' and it sounds like crap - why be surprised when someone tells you it sucks?

Hazard, Malfoy, E.S. all great producers.. Watch out for doods like: Rawtee, Mutated Forms, Heavy Hittahz and DJ Evol - good jumpin' tunes from all of them.

^ Wack Attitude ^

feel free to stop by my myspace for some "serious" tunes:

http://www.myspace.com/php

I take it you didn't read the doa thread, did you ?

Let me sum it up for you:

The topic is "why does fm7 suck at making bass?"

I made that snip to illustrate it doesn't.
Every synth is the FM7.

I made the snip to prove the FM7 could make a decent bass.

I didn't make it to sound "clowny" (I'm not even sure what that means) or anything, it just came out that way.

Besides, I'm not going to be sending a tune I made at work in 10 minutes off to a label or anything, jackass

Anyone with any musical experience would be able to tell it is not a serious attempt at a tune !

I'm sure your "opinion" on the snippet still stays the same, just like my opinion of you will stay the same.

P.S. I made the snip 2 years ago, just in case you think I just made it for this thread.

P.S.S. Caleb hit me up if you still need help, the email is the same

I said the tune you posted sucks - so what?
Why does it matter what forum its for, how long ago it was made of for what reason. Someone asked "how to make clownstep bass". you joined in on the conversation by posting your link with "just copy this".

We listened to the link and as far as any clownstep, the opinion is it's awful and sucks, that our opinion.

you're vent because of the opinion so now you have to get all "JS" and make caca peepee comments. lol.

After closer observation I see what you're saying now.

So now you and the tune suck - happy now caca nose?

lol... J/K rofl lmao bla bla bla.

edit..

Re: clown step bass

Like I said, I like Dillinja and own many of his tunes. The post was about a tune I didn't like of his, which is an opinion that I am entitled to.... But you say all you hear is s**t talking... The exact same thing your doing in this post. It's one thing to dislike a tune of someone's... It's another to tell someone (intuit) they should quite. That’s just being a jerk about it.

If everyone quite when someone didn't like a beat or tune of there's, there would be no fukken producers at all!! No I don't have any tracks OUT, and I guess since you do that gives you a green light to talk s**t on who ever you want. So by that mentality if I'm not a chef I can't dislike any of the food I eat...BS.

Don't be a hypocrite.

I think you guys have lost some of what we're saying in translation.

I do see why you perceive the opinions expressed as mean or rude, but.. this is only being said on the premise that people who make disrespectful jokes out of music, or a certain style should just knock it off.

Sorry if you guys still feel that opinion is too harsh & hey we're not saying quit every style of music and sit in a corner - not at all. It's just sad to see people dissing producers that make jumpin' or dancefloor tunes (or 'clownstep' - a totally lame blanket statement for these genres), when they could be making something in a positive fashion.

anyone can choose whichever genre they like for whatever you want to listen to or create, nothing wrong with 'clownstep' 'dubstep' techstep' its all music.

But seriously, 4th level, and Butternutz - no disrespect to you or anyone else who holds a serious outlook - not trying to take it there, just think that if someone else is going to throw something up 2 years old, to 'clown' around for a cheeky or sarcastic response - we're entitled to our opinions just the same.

Hope you understand.

Re: clown step bass

that's a lot of subtext for what was actually said. i know you shawn, and when we've spoken or met in person, i've come away feeling good about you as a person. so i was pretty surprised to see you writing something like that. and it wasn't even so much the "quit now" thing as the "you suck and so does your music" thing, which is less on the cheeky side and more direct. no matter how many jk's or lol's you put after that, it stands out.

all that being said, while "clownstep" is pretty lame nomenclature for something you're passionate about (i can imagine your frustration), it is still standard terminology. personally, i feel that labels in any case are fairly stupid, but i don't get bent out of shape about them. i write music, and i don't give a s**t what people call it. it's the way of the world, people label things so they can quantify them.

but the label doesn't change the substance of your music, and while obviously you might want to differentiate yourself from the throng who rock cheesey clownstep crap (what i have heard of your stuff doesn't really fit into that category IMO), ultimately we're still all in this together, doing the same thing. i just get super edgy when i see negativity, because like you're passionate about your genre/ subgenre of choice, i am passionate about unity and the scene. i want to see drum and bass grow and thrive in america and any division, even local, is something i will speak out against time and time again.

thank you for taking the time to explain where you were coming from. and yes, i do understand. i'm chasing the dream too.

Re: clown step bass

Good points man for sure..
As far as what it's called it ultimately doesn't matter as people love the tunes and it seems as though there's always a bigger crowd 'dancing' when 'dancefloor' tunes are on the decks..

Oh yea on the point of subtext; don't forget for every dramatic or negative thread there's a lot of pm/jsm going on you don't see. I know it's pretty direct to say someone sux, but hey if the shoe fits...

Anyways, you know where we stand and we always will accept others opinions as that's the way the world turns.

Junglescene is generally negative to begin with (uh oh! saying what many already think but won't say) and sometimes the fire is stoked, sometimes it just needs to be put out.

Seems like you guys deal with alot of crap for what you do and that sucks, but what i read is what i read and i was kinda in shock. Way to rebound on explaining yourself it must be tough when there is so much haters I would def approach it different if it was me but people have other ways of going about it.

Any ways keep up the good work ill continue to enjoy what you guys bring to the table!!!!

Re: clown step bass

Cool man, just realize that...

A spade is a spade.
We didnt like the tune (the tune was said to be a joke anyways-presented in a thread that's both sarcastic and negative) so we said we didn't like it.
After getting silly comments & lame messages, we decided we don't like the person or the tune; and we're most certainly entitled to that opinion.

This is Junglescene...
Sticks & Stones man.

We've made all kinds of tunes from techy to jumpy to hyphy to crunk and some hip hop - we take it all seriously.

When did you decide that a tune I made 2 years ago was a personal attack or a joke ?

I mean I knew music was powerful, but this is ridiculous.

I happen to know Caleb personally, and am even aware of the types of music he listens to, and I hope my snip has proven successful in his quest for a certain sound, and even in it's introduction as a new plug-in he may not of been aware of.
