Cingular Phones and recording sound issues
i just wasted about 4 hours of recording time due to a Cingular (gsm) interference...
anyone else have this problem?? and is there any other way to solve this besides turning off the phone.. where im at, i have no problem turning mine off, but my neighbors are not so nice....
is there a way to completely shield my equipment from this?? |

Re: Cingular Phones and recording sound issues
No. Cellular phones contain locating (tracking) devices that transmit signal via radio frequencies. These signals enter the signal path of any acoustic output device they happen to be near. The resulting interference is known as radio frequency interference. You must turn your phone off to avoid this phenomenon.
Further information: wireless devices, such as cell phones, wireless routers, and wireless cards for your laptop, emit harmful radiation when they are on. This radiation heats up specific areas of your brain within 15 minutes. After two hours of talking on the phone, you have permanent brain damage; I've researched several studies showing that a protein that should not pass through the blood-brain barrier is on the wrong side of that barrier after a lengthy phone conversation.
So, to be safe, probably best to have your cell phone off ANY time you're not using it. |

Re: Cingular Phones and recording sound issues
actually, i think ive taken the problem away from RFI and narrowed it to my soundcard..
it happens when everything is turned off...
time to check the cables and then maybe get a new card...

Re: Cingular Phones and recording sound issues
that's not celluar interference, it sounds like your processor is overloaded to me. |

Re: Cingular Phones and recording sound issues
even when i turn off the airport card it still does it..
this is beginning to be a problem..
cpu load is fine, and it only seems to happen every now and then, there isnt a rhyme or reason to it..
dunno... |

Re: Cingular Phones and recording sound issues
im running tiger, with peak 5.2
when i bought peak, they said that there was no problem with it being run on an intel based machine...
i since then used bootcamp, and used soundforge and got the same problem...
im thinking it might be my soundcard now.. |
