Re: the shure whitelabel
the white labels were created by shure to compete with ornofons. while they are a little bit heavier than the 447's they are definately easier on the you vinyl than ornofons. the sound is almost as good as the 447's. |

Re: the shure whitelabel
ortofon night clubs...
hmmm.... a big part of their success has been design as well... but they do sound great.. too bad they tear up your vinyl alot faster than 44-7s.... |

Re: the shure whitelabel
funny.. they dont tear apart my vinyl and ive been playing the same two records for oh... like almost 6 months now...
i play the same record over and over again (final scratch)
and they are still just the same as they were when I got them...
if you set the counter weight properly then you wont tear apart your wax... |

Re: the shure whitelabel
I guess "tear" is a bit of a harsh term...
but they will do more damage over time than lighter tracking needles...
they are no doubt high quality needles...
however they track significantly harder, or atleast need to in order to not skip during scratching or juggling routines... than the 44-7s... beauty of the 44's is that they track MUCH lighter than any needle that has comparable stability...
when scratching on my decks with a 44-7, you can watch the headshell wobble left and right, but the needle stays on point...
nightclubs are cool... but they are kinda on the same tip as the ISP/07 or the Sony MDRs... high quality, but ALOT fo people bought them because they were silver and sleek... (I own an ISP/07 and the sony MDRs btw )... |

Re: the shure whitelabel
nope..
haha...
which was my point... that's the only advandage to it over a regular 07... but who has a quadrophonic system in a club?
it's silver and blue... and I liked it.. plus i was pulling mad dough at the time so it really didn't matter to me... kinda whish i had the extra 200$ now... (lookin back is all 20/20)... |

Re: the shure whitelabel
the fact that the ornofons are SO durable (which they are) and the fact that they track at almost 17g is a tell tale sign of what they will do to you vinyl. |

Re: the shure whitelabel needle review
These needles are excellent!
Better sounding than any Orofon and just as durable, i tried to make the record skratch but to no avail. Great bass response and they look sooo neat!
$109 a piece @ Pro Sound.
Best needles ive ever tried and heard and they look great! Thumbs up 10/10!!!! |

Re: the shure whitelabel needle review
Yeah, I have been thinking about picking up a pair of these white label shures as well.
The people at the store told me they are easier on the vinyl, have better sound quality, and track better than the ortofons, plus, with metal arms that won't fall off like the plastic arms on my ortofons...
But, I always take whatever salesmen say with a grain of salt, so I also wanted to do some research, and find out what anyone here had to say about them.... |

Re: the shure whitelabel needle review
pickering was a big company
then they kinda went down
so stanton bought them out (w/designs)
most distro's dont really carry pickering, i dont knwo why : \
there was pickering all over the place in tokyo. |
