thank you melicious. actually, i turned down the booking mostly based on that; especially when i got a lol when i brought it up- the "cumming soon" thing didn't help either.
we all realize that it pertains to WAR, but since it is an all female lineup, there as SO many other names that would be more respectful; strange Co-incidence? i think not.

Hey it's just a name, I personally like it and everyone I've told about the event has also thought it was a good name. People will definetly remember it and that is what it's all about PROMOTION!! It's all just for fun and I'm sure everyone who comes will have much respect for the up and coming female talent that SD has to offer the DnB scene. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC!!! I can't wait to rock the f**kin' s**t out of that place!! |

I don't flake on gigs however I was not told the name of the party until after I was booked and had I been told I would say the same thing .. in poor taste booooo.
Oh and the "cumming soon" is over the top .. I haddn't noticed that .. that is very inappropriate.
I will be bringing the pain regardless of the name of this event so if you want to hear some beats come out an rock out.

hmmm... I think male or female should have nothing to do with it....it's about the beats right? I can get past the name, but the "cumming soon" thing is a bad touch. Yes it is just sex, and sex is "natural," but music isn't sex, it's about sound. Playing on sex for an all female line up is going to fan the flames. Most female artists I know want to be respected as an artist, not a "female artist." No lines drawn, the creators of phat beats are one in the same, male or female. Take it back to the roots, market the sound not the eye candy and you'll offend noone.
And no, most women don't mind being called "foxy," but when they're striving so hard to be seen as equal, it's disturbing to be capitalized on by gender. You've got a great line up, but there's more to market on than T&A. |
