I say we start small, maybe first we should just take up donations at Parties (like charging $1 extra and then whatever else people want to donate. I say we only do a party with the blessing of the family. Letz just get like a couple of cards have everyone sign them, do the donations and present it to the family. Then if we and they decide that a party (benefit) is in order then fine, if not i think it should be more or less a family decision carried out by us . . . . . my 2cents |

Oh no itz all cool. I think in the case of Robert, he was a DJ and his family was aware of his luv for drum n bass, Sunil was tight with his brother etc. so throwing a party seemed appropriate. With her i think we should just again do donations and present it to the family then if we deem it necessary and appropriate to do a benefit party then thatz cool. We should also only (at least right now) werk thru the laison between all of us and her family (cause her family has enough to deal with right now and doesn't need a lot of people, though it is outta luv, bombarding them etc.). We need to find a laison . . . . . |

I'm with you chris we def need to go one step at a time. I don't have any experience working with grief stricken parents on something like this. But sadly enough it hasn't been that long since we did another benefit. So I know what an overall powerful and positive effect an event like this can have on the family. And I know it helps all of us too. |

Kristi Johnson Moment of Silence and Donation Box @ Evolve
Evolve would like the jungle community to observe a moment of silence in respect to Kristi and her family.
Please join us this Friday @ midnight as we share a moment of silence for our fallen friend.
There will be a donation box at the front door for your contributions.
(someone that is close to Kristi's family please contact one of us, dotcomedy, mrs.comedy, freakageek)
We ask that all who come respect this moment of silence. Many of our peers were effected by this tragedy, please show compasion.

i agree with chris. i think its important to first have a liason with the family, possiblly aaron/stepcorrect, so that we can find out what they would like done for her.. its possible that throwing a party with her name on it might be too sensitive to them even? everyone's mourning and grieving (as well as financial) needs are different and its great to see community support but lets find out how we can best help the family right now. |

I think it would be great if Dave wanted to donate a website that would not only be a memorial for her, but also to educate about safety, modeling scam stuff, etc. It seems like people are already gathering information. That's good.
