Prom locations for parties.
Its prom season and my little bro just went to prom at Sony stuidos and said the loaction was huge and the party went til 12. There are a lot of really nice loactions for private party. My prom for my ghetto HS was held at Dukes in Malibu... there is a perfect little club type room to hold late night parties. I think promoters should start thinking out of the box again. I know its hard to get locations but parties at bars turn people off, no matter who is playing. |

Re: Prom locations for parties.
These locations already sell booze for corporate events and the like, and usually there is loud music. I bet a promoter could talk the owers into having parties last later. |

Re: Prom locations for parties.
I bet it could happen people! I'll look more into it and post some possible spots! I know some of the banquet/dance halls around socali will and can plan and push their parties how ever hard they want. We are talking about private bisness here. And not a nightclub or a bar. |

Re: Prom locations for parties.
it for sure could easily happen....just getting a promotor with good REAL business sense & the will to do something different are the only things holding it back. People might be surprised about who would say "YES" to having a party go off at their venue. Just look at us IE heads....Coffee shops, taco stands, breweries, dry lakes....when you just take what you can get, you can go a long ways. |

Re: Prom locations for parties.
there are some very large hotel wedding rooms out there too. some have great views. some have full bars. all one would need to do is become friends with the human resources department of that hotel. I did it in Seattle, don't see why it can't be done down here....
how 'bout some of them mansions you see along some of the beach fronts out there.....a lot of them rent out by the week. something like that obviously couldn't accomodate some massive wall of sound but it would be a nice changeup in things out there...

Some clubs derive the majority of their income from the bar. |

Re: Prom locations for parties.
Well, bars are cool locations if they are really dope... remember that I am differentiating between clubs and bars. A cool club will mostly bring in the peeps (example: LA entertainment center)... however the whole jungle scene shows up and over-capacity problems make the parties unmanagable. But a sure fire way to bring in the peeps is a dope rave-ish location. |
